I am super fascinated with artist Morgan Martinson right now. Her current show, “Laser Mo Show”, is gracing Amberella Gallery until December 29th. The response to her work has been incredible and it is all now for sale online! The fact that LASERS are involved in her process drives my me wild! The pieces are acrylic on canvas which she then removes layers of paint with a LASER. So is she “de painting”??? … oooooo .. did I make a word up?! Not positive if that is the most appropriate way to describe it but I enjoy the fact that I have never witnessed the actual process… this leaves my mind to envision all kinds of crazy scenarios. I imagine brightly colored power puff girl laser contraptions that are the size of skyscrapers and Morgan having some sort of super galactic powers that make her strong enough to control the machines. Come in and check out the show or take a peek online!

Night Train and Amberella Gallery presents “Nothing But Trouble”
Myles Smutney’s 2010 Calendar Relase Party!

Myles Smutney is a Philadelphia-based artist exploring the darker side of beauty through her silkscreen prints, pen-and-ink illustrations and mixed-media installations. Born and raised in Chicago, Myles received her training through brief interludes at art school in both Chicago and New York City.
Borrowing from the iconography of classic tattoo flash and punk rock subculture, Smutney endorses a homegrown, D.I.Y. attitude.
She examines themes of mortality through reoccurring imagery, such as picturesque roses, expressive skeletons, and striking women. These momento moris embody the fragile and fleeting nature of life. But all is not bleak in Smutney’s universe; symbols of fortune, strength, and eternal love are woven into her compositions. She dabbles in fashion, collaborating with designers, participating in live screen printing events, and fabricating her designs on new and repurposed clothing.
This time Myles has turned her focus onto a 2010 Calender. Each month is depicted with a corresponding modern take on the classic American pin-up girl. She has maintained their authenticity by using traditional 1940’s poses, celebrating Woman’s sexuality as something to be admired with an added rock and roll twist. Each illustration is drawn by hand.

Adam Wallacavage
Alyona $55 | 20×24
Artist Biography
Inspired by an obsession with the ocean and a fascination with extravagant interiors of old churches, Adam Wallacavage transformed the dining room of his South Philadelphia Victorian Brownstone into something from the pages of a Jules Verne novel. Teaching himself the ancient art of ornamental plastering, Adam evolved his new found skills into making plaster cast octopus shaped chandeliers as the final touch to his underwater themed room. Not content with leaving the chandeliers to his own home, Adam continued his experimentation by making more and more. He changed the shapes and colors and even collaborated with famed jewelry designer, Tarina Tarantino who supplied the beautiful pearls for his pink glitter chandelier featured in his first showing at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in June of 2006. The same chandelier will be included in the Juxtapoz retrospective show at the Laguna Art Museum in June of 2008, before arriving at it’s permanent home, in the entrance of Tarina’s new Sparkle Factory, in downtown LA.
Beyond making chandeliers, Adam Wallacavage is also an accomplished photographer, documenting artists, musicians, daredevils and all things weird and wonderful. His first book, Monster Size Monsters, was released in August of 2006 through Gingko Press and spans fifteen years of his photography.

Net Worth
Fiona’s Fairys Costumes
When it comes to finding a Halloween costume for your little princess, you’ve been known to go the extra yard.
This year, stop by Amberella Gallery and treat her to a sweet confection by local designer Karen Clarke.
Scoop up a ready-made tutu (she’s got a few in the gallery’s signature rosy hues) or go the custom route: Tell her the color and style and she’ll stitch one in no time.
Simple tanks and layers of tulle (lined with soft tricot to stave off itchiness) are embellished with beads, ribbons, and flowers. And since Clarke lives just steps away, popping in for a quick fitting is a cinch.
It’s sure to measure up.
Available at Amberella Gallery, The Piazza at Schmidts,1050 North Hancock Street, suite 62 (610-238-5669 oramberellagallery.wordpress.com). To see styles, go tofionasfairys.com.
